Hi, I'm Ainsley...

I've always loved sport, especially running and cycling. I've completed Ironman UK 3 times, cycled from Land's End to John O'Groats and competed at club level as a runner for years.

Whilst I do still enjoy racing, what's most important to me is the feeling of freedom you get when you run or ride and just being out there.

It doesn't always feel easy to start or maintain a new fitness regime, but the rewards for doing so are great and varied.

Why MettāFit?

An interest in Mindfulness practices and Buddhism has influenced my approach to exercise, and to life in general. After being made redundant from a job I was unhappy in for years, I thought long and hard about what I could do next with my life. I wasn't sure what at first, but it needed to have real meaning and involve helping others.

I noticed that lot's of people say they would like to start running, but are apprehensive about going it alone, or just think they can't do it. That's why my mission is to encourage as many people as possible to get outdoors, get active and feel amazing about themselves!

In a world which can often seem to be moving too fast, and for no reason, it is important to take time to work on your own health and well-being. Keeping fit is one of the very best ways to improve, not only your physical health, but also your state of mind. The bonus is, you don't need any fancy equipment or a gym membership, just some trainers and a little encouragement.

Everything feels better when you've been for a run!
